Pros: Stylish, big touch screen that is responsive.Highly hackable- you can install one of the many mods available(without any hassle, prior knowledge, or risk of bricking the unit). Someone said the TTS cannot be added anymore- NOT TRUE, I just installed on a second one today.
Out of the box, might not be much( old maps, few POIs), however, after taking 30 min to read and install a mod, it turns into one of the most versatile PNAs out there- now I am running PlolNav, Destinator and iGO on it, and the newest MioMap with 12 mil POIs. Might put the TomTom on it also. You can choose to run TeleAtlas maps or Navteq. Plus the Wi-Fi(you need to purchase a compatible card, about $35, should you care about using the internet with it), video player, games.SiRFstarIII
Cons: The battery is pretty lousy, but since most times it will be connected to my PC or car charger, I will still give it a 5 egg rating.
Overall Review: A wall charger would be nice.
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
I will never buy a product made by this company again.2/16/2009 5:08:09 PM
Pros: Decent gps, good features, cool diaplay.
Cons: You will find many roads, poi' s,="" and="" addresses="" that="" have="" been="" built="" in="" the="" past="" couple="" of="" years="" are="" non-existing="" in="" this="" gps.="" it="" took="" me="" three="" days="" to="" figure="" this="" out.="" mio="" customer="" service="" is="" no="" help,="" i'm="" sending="" it="" back="" tomorrow.="">
Overall Review: after reading one of the other reviews, i had read a suggestion to call mio and tell them you're going to return it if you dont get the map updates. This no longer works. I talked to three different people, all of which tried charging me 79.95 for this update dvd.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Cheap price. Works well out of the box. Navigation with Mio is great so far for me in the Washington DC Area. Easy to mod (the Mio is using Windows CE).
Cons: Battery doesn't last very long, but it's not much to worry about. the unit is usually always plugged in while using it in the car.
https://greatluxe535.weebly.com/casio-dr-120tm-calculator-user-manual.html. Overall Review: This unit can be used as a pocket pc, but the battery only lasts typically 1-1.5 hrs. I have an 8gb SDHC card in it with photos, videos, music, documents, etc. It's awesome!
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Becomes essentially a Pocket PC device after MioPocket unlock is installed. This allows to install virtually any GPS software like iGo, TomTom, Garmin. It works also with Spectec SD Wifi cards and it surfs the net really well with Opera browser for WinCE 5.0. GPS chipset is SirfStar III so it gets quickly connected to satellites.
Cons: May be wall charger not being included? I would not use it anyway cause it is connected to my PC all the time so it charges through USB port, but may be some people need it. One detail: if you turn the power first then connect it to USB cable then connection screen popups, but if you connect the USB cable first then turn on the power on device in this case you can use it while it is charging at the same time.
Overall Review: Skype for mac 10.9.5 free download. $99 for 4.3' screen and free shipping is just awesome. https://skirenew828.weebly.com/blog/mame-32-game-download. So far this is the best device for the money. Period. Add a Bracketron UFM-100BL Friction Dash Pad and a 16Gb SD card and you ready to rock'n'roll. Use almost any GPS software you want, use it as a movie and picture viewer, run games on it and surf the net.
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Disappointing GPS, Horrible Battery1/28/2009 9:24:06 PM
Pros: It works, the screen' s="" pretty="" sensitive="" contrary="" to="" some="" of="" the="" other="" reviews="" i've="" read="" about="" the="" c320,="" it="" plays="" music,="" and="" can="" be="" hacked/modded="" like="" no="" tomorrow.="" the="" screen="" is="" bright,="" and="" the="" sound="" is="" clear="" and="" louder="" than="" some="" of="" the="" other="" reviews="" would="" have="" you="">
Of course you're not going to hear it if you've got your stereo cranked. But with the right cable, you can run this thing through your car's receiver.
Cons: The battery on this thing is absolutely PATHETIC. I charged this thing for 5 hours and it only managed to charge 18%? Come ON. Every time I pressed a button it'd go down 1%. It's BRAND NEW and in order for me to use the thing it HAS to be plugged into a power source. I'd have given this thing 5/5 if it weren't for this inexcusably inadequate battery and outdated maps.
The maps are old as hell and Mio wants you to pay for maps that aren't 3 years old. Total garbage.
Overall Review: The TTS hack no longer works so if you're needing your GPS to read you street names and stuff. forget about this one because Mio caught onto that and put a stop to it.
Their might be another way, I'm not sure. I don't really care. I'm calling Mio tomorrow and hopefully they can resolve these issues I'm having. If not, I'm buying a Garmin because I KNOW a Garmin does it's job and does it well.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: On its own, it's pretty cool. The MIOMAP is a great program, and I'd never even ued a GPS before. I was able to figure it all out in about 20 minutes without even reading the manual.
Spend a few minutes reading over at mionav.com and then you can easily iunlock this thing and it becomes AWESOME! First I added TTS. Then I installed MioPocket which basicaly turned it into a PDA. After that I installed Jerrys skin, which made it a bit more user friendly. I'm now running both MIOMAP as well as iGo. The final thing to do was buy a SDIO wifi card. Now I can surf the web wherever there is a free wireless connection. Not bad for the $99 I p;aid from Newegg.
Cons: Battery life sucked even before I unlocked it and installed MioPocket. It' even worse after the fact. Overall I get about 2 hours worth of battery life. Sap gui download free. Buying a replacement battery is cheap and easy though, so I may try that.
I bought this because of the mp3 player function. I also bought a 16gb sd card to load up my music. I put about 10gb on there and the unit would flounder and crash. After I installed miopocket and used WMP to play my music, it works just fine.
Overall Review: Overall I don't think I've ever been quite as excited about a piece of equipment as I am about my Mio. It rocks and is worth every penny.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: I have added TTS with info on the Web. I have also added a SD card and make it a PDA. I enjoy viewing my photos on it but the screen is too small to watch a movie although it can be done. The map that come with it is 2006 version. There are sites on the web that you can down load premium map 2007 that has more POI.
Cons: Speaker volume is not high enough. I purchased another car mount ($30 ) that has a speaker and can charge the unit using contacts at the bottom. This mount make the USB charge cable much easier to handle. You don't have to plug and unplug the USB in order to remove the unit from the mount. I have also purchased an AC adapter for $6 on.
